Quartzite Countertops Toronto

[/ →](/)

handles quartzite installation across kitchens, condos and commercial builds in Toronto and the GTA. We install natural metamorphic sandstone at 7 Mohs, acid-resistant and heavy, so the job takes vacuum lifters, a seam setter and crews who know stone. Our own pieces come off the Park Industries CNC bridge saw and Flow Mach 500 waterjet in Vaughan, and we also install slabs clients bought at Stone Tile, Ciot and Marsala, with 22 years of installs behind every crew.

Quartzite installation runs $85-$150/sqft including fabrication. Taj Mahal, Cristallo, Mont Blanc, Sea Pearl and Super White are in stock. Every install carries WSIB coverage, $5M CGL, 1,100 lb delivery insurance, NSI compliance and a written 2-year warranty across Toronto, Mississauga, Vaughan, Markham and the rest of the GTA.

## Quartzite Installation Done by Stone People

Installing quartzite is not the same as installing cabinets or laminate. A 3cm slab weighs roughly 20 lbs per square foot, a long perimeter piece can top 400 lbs and a narrow section around a sink can crack if it is lifted wrong. Quartzite is a hard, dense metamorphic sandstone, about 7 Mohs and acid-resistant, and that density is exactly what makes it both durable and unforgiving on install day.

Our installers are our own WSIB-cleared employees, not subcontractors. They work in two-person crews with vacuum lifters, A-frames and a seam setter, and they install the same pieces our shop fabricated the week before.

## Types of Installation Work We Handle

### Kitchen Installs

L-shape, galley and open-concept kitchens. Most are set, seamed, caulked and sealed in one appointment.

### Island Installs

Single-slab, bookmatched and jumbo islands, including steel flat bar or corbel supports for deep overhangs. Waterfall islands use mitre clamps and Tenax epoxy.

### Client-Supplied Slab Installs

Bought a slab already? We inspect it for fissures and resin fills, template, fabricate and install it at $85-$150/sqft. If we find a problem, we show you before cutting.

### Sink and Cooktop Cut-Outs

Undermount sinks, farmhouse sinks, cooktops and faucet holes are cut on the CNC in our shop, never with a grinder on your kitchen floor.

## What Happens on Install Day

1. **Arrival and protection.** Floors, stairs and door frames are covered. Pieces arrive on padded A-frames.
2. **Cabinet check.** Every cabinet is checked for level and shimmed where needed. A plywood sub-top goes on where support is thin.
3. **Setting.** Pieces go in with vacuum lifters. Narrow sections near sinks get steel rod reinforcement.
4. **Seams.** A seam setter pulls joints flush, and Akemi colour-matched epoxy fills them.
5. **Sink.** The undermount sink is glued, clipped and silicone sealed.
6. **Finish.** Silicone perimeter caulking, a final Dry-Treat Stain-Proof seal and a full clean-up.

## Insurance and Paperwork

Every crew is WSIB-cleared, and the company carries $5M commercial general liability plus $2M property damage. Every load is covered by 1,100 lb delivery insurance. For condos, we send certificates to your property manager before install day and book the freight elevator. For commercial sites, see

## Installing Your Own Slab: What to Expect

Buying a slab yourself can work well, but slabs sometimes hide resin-filled fissures or soft spots under the polish. We inspect before cutting, plan cut-outs around weak areas and tell you straight if a slab is risky. Nine times out of ten, this is where the previous fabricator cut a corner: they cut first and looked later.

## After the Install

Your plumber connects the sink the next day. Avoid heavy weight on overhangs for 24 hours while the epoxy cures. After that, the kitchen is yours. The first reseal is about 18 months out; our

team will remind you. For how the pieces were made, see

Straight Talk

## What Actually Stops Toronto Homeowners From Booking Installation

In our opinion, these four questions decide most bookings. Here are the straight answers.

### "Why does install cost so much more than a handyman?"

In our opinion, install day is where a stone job is won or lost. A 3cm quartzite slab weighs about 20 lbs per sqft. Our price includes a WSIB-cleared two-person crew, vacuum lifters, a seam setter, $5M CGL, 1,100 lb delivery insurance and a 2-year warranty. A cracked slab costs far more than the difference.

### "Couldn't we save by going with quartz instead?"

Quartz is lighter on the wallet at the slab level, but install labour is similar and you lose heat and UV resistance. If you have chosen quartzite for its looks, the install is not the place to switch.

### "Will the stone chip during install?"

Our crews carry pieces on A-frames and vacuum lifters, never by the edges. Corners are protected with edge guards. In 1,400+ kitchens, install-day chips are rare, and we repair them on the spot if they happen.

### "Do I have to seal it right after?"

We seal it for you. Pieces are sealed in the shop and get a final Dry-Treat Stain-Proof coat on site before we leave.

Precision Workflow

## How Our Installation Process Works, 5 Steps

1. 1

    ### Step 1: Slab Check or Hand-Selection

Whether we source the slab at Stone Tile, Ciot or Marsala or you supply your own, we inspect it for fissures and resin repairs before anything is cut.

2. 2

    ### Step 2: Digital Laser Templating

Our LT-2D3D laser templater maps cabinets to 1/16 inch and checks level. We note access routes, stairs, elevator size and parking for install day.

3. 3

    ### Step 3: Park Industries CNC & Waterjet Cutting

Crews who install slabs cut on site with grinders leave rough cut-outs and stress cracks. We cut every piece, sink and cooktop opening in the shop on the Park Industries CNC and Flow Mach 500.

4. 4

    ### Step 4: Hand-Polishing & Sealing by Marco

Marco Delvecchio checks every piece, edge and cut-out before it is loaded. Each piece is sealed with Dry-Treat Stain-Proof in the shop.

5. 5

    ### Step 5: One-Day Installation

A WSIB-cleared two-person crew levels cabinets, adds a plywood sub-top where needed, sets pieces with vacuum lifters, pulls seams flush, bonds with Akemi epoxy, mounts the sink and caulks.

Got Questions?

## Installation FAQ

### How much does quartzite installation cost in Toronto?

Quartzite installation runs $85-$150/sqft in CAD, including fabrication and install. A 45-55 sqft L-shape kitchen usually lands at $5,500-$9,800 total with stone, and an island alone at $2,800-$9,500. If you supply your own slab, the same $85-$150/sqft covers inspection, templating, fabrication, edges, cut-outs, sealing, delivery and install. Every line is itemised.

### How long does a quartzite install take?

Most residential installs finish in one day with a two-person WSIB-cleared crew. Large islands with waterfalls or full-height backsplashes can need a short second visit.

### Can you install a slab I already bought?

Yes. We inspect it for fissures and resin repairs before cutting and show you any issues so you can go back to the yard if needed.

### Do my cabinets need to be ready?

Yes. Cabinets must be installed, level and fixed to the wall. We check level at templating and add shims or a plywood sub-top where needed.

### What insurance do your crews carry?

WSIB coverage, $5M commercial general liability, $2M property damage and 1,100 lb delivery insurance on every load. Certificates are available for condo boards and property managers.

### Do you hook up the sink and faucet?

We mount the undermount sink to the stone. A licensed plumber connects the drain and supply lines, usually the next day after the epoxy cures.

### Can you install in a condo?

Yes. We book the freight elevator and loading dock, follow building work hours and size pieces to fit the elevator cab.

### What if the slab cracks during install?

It is rare, and it is on us. We carry insurance on every load and replace any piece damaged by our crew.

### Do you remove the old counters?

Yes. Removal and disposal is quoted on its own line, and the crew handles it on install day.

### Is there a travel charge outside Toronto?

No. Published pricing applies across the GTA, from Burlington to Markham.
